Overview:
The Thompson (https://www.umassmed.edu/thompson/) and Xu (https://www.umassmed.edu/ZXulab/) labs at UMass Chan Medical School are jointly recruiting a postdoctoral scientist to investigate how protein citrullination contributes to motor neuron degeneration in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a fatal neurodegenerative disease. The scientist will employ various investigative tools, including proteomics, enzymology, protein chemistry, molecular and chemical biology, and others, and work together with neuroscientists, to unveil the changes in protein citrullination and the role of these changes in ALS. Highly motivated scientists with a recent Ph.D. and proficiency in the relevant investigative tools as mentioned above, and a strong interest in neurodegenerative disease are encouraged to apply.
